Caitlyn's 1 Month Update

Honestly, I can not believe that my Little Caitlyn is already one month old. She is such a good baby and is very patient with me. Her newest baby trick is staring at lights and puckering her lips. She just started this week giving mommy a solid 6 hours of straight sleep at night, what an angel. Anyways here are her latest STATS:

Weight: 6lbs. 14oz. (5%)
Height: 20.25inches (10-25%)
Head Circumference: 13.25 inches (5%)

She got one shot today and although she nearly turned purple from crying so hard, once mommy picked her up she calmed down to a gentle whimper. She is such a trooper.

Caitlyn's First Official Bath

Okay so I should have posted this awhile ago, but I am busy now a days :)
Caitlyn's umbilical cord remnants finally fell off at about 3 weeks so it was time for her first official bath.... and she loved it. She sat in the warm water trying to eat her hands the whole time. The only thing she really didn't like was when it was time to get out of the bath, but who can blame her really.

Of Course I have my wonderful bath time helper to help me out when mommy sees a photo opportunity :) What a couple of cuties

Happy Easter!!!

Well its that time of year again the birds are singing and flowers are blooming, its Spring in Texas. Our Munchkins are growing so big and although they don't appreciate the significance of the Easter Season as much as we do yet, they do enjoy the sugar rush (By the way the Easter bunny did great on reducing the amount of sugar this year, if I do say so myself). So with out further ado here are pics and video of our Easter Sunday fun!!

My newest challenge getting 2 kids to smile and look at me for pictures.
Yes we know she is going to be a heart breaker and give us both gray hair (well okay me gray hair) This was taken earlier, she is getting so big.. 3 weeks old now.. time is flying by.

Here is video of the Egg Hunts :0 Enjoy they are too funny!!

We've been married how long?

So today is our 6 year anniversary, and it seems as though time has just cruised by. I honestly have a hard time believing that we have been married for 6 years already because it feels like just yesterday we were driving in Dave's prelude to go up alpine loop. I guess that's how you know your happily in love... time just zips by. Anyways I just want my family and friends to know how much I love my sweet husband. This next part gets mushy so reader beware: He is such an amazing man and father. I thank Heavenly Father everyday for blessing me with him in my life. I am so proud (well okay how about so pleased ;)) of all that he has accomplished and overcome over the last couple years and the way he has growth from it all. He truly is my knight in shining armor and I love him more and more each day of our lives together. I am so grateful that he agreed to be with me forever six years ago. I love love love you Dave!!

Caitlyn's 2 week update

Yea for 2 weeks old!!! We took Caitlyn to see her new pediatrician today.. so much better than the other one. The doctor said she looks great and was really pleased with her developmental milestones (which isn't much at this point). Anyways here are her STATS:
Weight: 5lbs. 7oz. (5th %)
Height: 19 inches (10-25 %)
Head Circumference: 13 inches (5th %)

She is our petite princess.
Thought I would even out the pictures a bit and give you a little update on the other too cute munchkins in my life, here is their latest pic.

Jocelyn is having a great time being mommy's big helper and loves to watch her sister. She is still a bit stir crazy in the house since there are not too many girlfriends around but we are hoping to remedy that this summer with dance class.

Ethan is a tank and a typical boy. He spend most of the day destroying things and being a scary monster trying to catch his big sister. He isn't too concerned about the new baby unless she is crying and then he gets very curious.

Quick Baby Update

Okay so had Dr. appointment this morning and received the okay to go off my meds starting tonight. I took my last dose at 4pm, sooooo we will see if this start acting up again tonight or if it waits for the morning. We scheduled another Dr appointment for a week from today but it seemed like neither my Dr. or myself really feel I will make it to that appointment. Will try to keep you all up to date if anything happens :)

Home from the Hospital!!

WAHOOO!!! I am home and still pregnant!!!
We have finally figured out that if I am on 3 different meds that we can control my contractions. Although I hate being on that much medicine it is sooo important for Caitlyn to continue baking even if it is for only a few more days. I have a Dr. appt set for Monday morning and Dr. Luna said we will discuss when is a safe time to stop the meds, however since she only wrote the prescriptions for the next several days until I am 36 weeks, I am assume our conversation on Monday will be her telling me you can stop the meds and if you go into labor (which will very likely happen within that day or so) I will let you deliver. I have to say this though I am so grateful that we were blessed to move down here to Texas and have been under the care of such a great team of doctors. They have done a great job of keeping me pregnant and making sure Caitlyn is plenty strong before she makes her entrance into this world.

In hospital :(

Well tuesday morning I woke up bright and early to contractions that were 2-5 minute apart, so I had Dave take me to L&D.After getting checked out they made an attempt to stop contraction with terbutaline shots, that helped for about 10 min and then the contractions came back.Dr. Luna decided to admit me for closer monitoring and after a full day and partial night of contracting we have figured out a that 5mg terbutaline and 20mg procardia an hour later keeps them under control. Now I just have to stay stable through the night and will get released in the morning. On a bright note if I go into labor again after this coming tuesday they will just let me go as Caitlyn should be perfectly fine and will likely not need NICU time. So that's the latest baby update.

Baby Caitlyn Update!!

Well we had a wonderful appt today...sorta. Since I am now 34 weeks they did a manual check rather than an ultrasound. We found out that I am already 1cm dilated and 85% effaced....sooo it looks like no matter what we try Caitlyn is bound and determined to get here on her time frame. The Dr. scheduled our next appointment for next Thursday, which we both hope I make it too!! We will keep you posted!!!

We have Internet!!!!

Yeah!!!!!! So it has only taken us a month and several aweful companies to finally get the much needed High Speed Internet. But we have made some great friends here in Texas whom just happen to work for AT&T. I don't know if he was just a miracle worker or what but this 3rd attempt at establishing internet through them has worked! So lets all dance in our seats and celebrate the fact that I can now update my blog!!!

Okay latest and greatest baby news...I had an appointment yesterday with my perinatologist and it went wonderfully. They did a scan of Caitlyn and she is measuring pretty close to right on track, weighing in at an estimated 4lbs. 9oz.. She has flipped again and is head down AGAIN!! We just hope she will stay put but she is incrediably active and well I wouldn't be suprised if she does the flip flop thing each week for a bit. They then measured my cervix to see if the contractions I had been having are sending me into preterm labor... GOOD NEWS... my cervix has grown :) last appointment it was 2.6cm and yesterdays appointment it was a wopping 3.5cm (for those who need it longer is better). They were all very excited and said whatever I am doing right now (weekly 17P shots, 5mg Terbutaline every 8hrs, and trying to stay off my feet) is working great and keep it up!! They also did another fFN test which came back negative so hopefully another 2 weeks at least. The best part was they are so confident this little one is not coming out yet that they released me back to my OB so no more peri visits!!!

So the game plan from here on out is continuing the meds until 35-36weeks and then let nature run its course... My delivery date prediction for fun is March 24th, I will be 37 weeks and thats when I delivered jojo so I think its good girl karma. Here is the latest belly shot I took at 32 weeks, I think my body is starting to max out because I don't see a big difference. I'll take a better pic on monday as I am getting my hair done for my birthday and will have to show it off too!!!

P.S. Yes, I know I am pastey and need to get out in the Texas sun :)

Sorry I am MIA

okay well after the latest and greatest Internet drama, we are yet again waiting for a modem to show up and for the time being are using Dial-up (which totally rocks). SO this will be a really quick update. I am 32weeks today, wahoo!!!! have a dr. appt on friday and am excited to see Caitlyn again. I have been having a few contraction during the day but most of the consistent annoying ones happen at night, which if they are doing anything to my cervix may result in more meds to try to stop them. My last fFN test on 2/11 came back negative which was good and my cervix had only shortened a small amount with little funneling so they were feeling confident that the 17P shots were doing there thing. Other than that I am getting bigger and more uncomfortable with every squirm this little one makes. Dave is doing great and is really starting to get into a selling groove. The two tornadoes are doing great and have been adjusting really really well. I will update with pics and such once we have real Internet.

Quick Baby UPDATE!!

Just got back from the peri- Good News first: Caitlyn looks wonderful she is measuring a few days ahead and is already at 3lbs, her HB was 155bpm and she was very active.
Bad News: My cervix is short and gets shorter with pressure..So with my previous history they gave me steriod shot for Caitlyn's lung development and gave me my first of hopefully many 17P injections. They also did the FFN test to see if I will likely deliver in the next 14days, but I won't know results on that until friday. I was pretty much told to sit on my butt and not do much until I get the results back from the FFN test. I see my regular OB next fri and then the peri again the following week. So send your prayers this way that Caitlyn will stay cooking in me for several more weeks.

Here is a pic from my sono at the peri's

First taste of Texas Winter

Well Dave and I have officially had our first taste of what winter in Texas means... here are pics from the ice storm that hit us last night. Fortunately most of it is melting this afternoon.
Last Night:

This morning:

Our poor cars had the brunt of it too, as we still have alot of boxes in our small garage... oh joy!!
