Today was Jocelyn's big day performing at the Sand Expo Center at their Festival of Trees event. She was very excited all morning to get her costume on and dance. I was really nervous that when we got there she would get scared and wouldn't want to do it. However she surprised me and was a really big girl, once she saw her dance teacher she grabbed her hand and I snuck off to go sit in front of the stage and wait for her to perform. She did a great job and remembered a lot of the steps. After the performance we walked around to look at all the trees. Then as a fun surprise we took Jo and E to Maggie Moos for some ice cream.

Ethan enjoyed seeing sister dance too eventhough he was a stinker for the camera :)

Our Fun Thanksgiving in Vegas !!

We had a blast down in Las Vegas visiting with Doug, Jodi and Fam for a whole week. Of course the weather was much milder than up in Utah so we had to take advantage of that by a nice little night dip in the pool. Jocelyn is getting so big and can now swim with either a noodle or a life vest all by herself. Ethan was pretty content to just let his cousin Maddy take him around the pool. I attempted the pool for oh I would say about 20 minutes but it was a little chilly for my blood. The worst part was getting out in the chilly air, which did result in a few colds (should saw that one coming).

The next day we decided to take advantage of the pool when the sun was out hoping that it would be warmer and we could burn off some of the few thousand extra calories we gained from the yummy feast the night before. Jo was pretty much a fish and took some coaxing to get out of the pool so E could have some time playing with daddy. However once E found the goggles he was content to sit on the steps and look cool. We decided to see if Misha would join in the swimming fun and after a few attempts she jumped right in and I honestly think she quite enjoyed herself.

The next day the boys decided that they wanted to go let off some steam and go shooting in the sand canyons. Figuring this was an event I would usually skip I thought with as little as i get to see my hubby I should take advantage and join him. Jocelyn wanted to try her hand at shooting so after a long safety talk with daddy he helped her shoot a 22. Ethan stayed at the other end of the canyon with me and had a blast throwing rocks and the walls. Dave eventually convinced me to try out his handgun which had a lot more umph than I thought but it was a good opportunity to test it out..probably would have been a little bit easier non-pregnant as the kickback shook my belly a little too much so after about the 4th shot I was done for the day.

To add to all this fun we stuffed our faces on left overs and even found time to take our fam to the movies to see BOLT in 3-D which was a cute movie and I am sure Jo would have enjoyed it more if she hadn't fallen asleep through it. All in all it was a wonderful trip and we are so lucky to have such fun family to spend the holiday with. Thanks Doug and Jodi we love you guys!!

Another Ultrasound today!

We had our follow up Dr. appointment and ultrasound today to double check that baby and find the cause to the contractions I was having a few weeks ago. The appointment went well, Dr said that everything is as it should be and I haven't started dilating or anything which was very good news. He also said that I can come off the modified bed rest as long as I try to lay down for 30min a few times a day. We saw Caitlyn and again and confirmed SHE is in fact a SHE. She is absolutely perfect measuring right on target for my due date and was very active. We got a few pictures to take home but they are not that great of quality so sorry if you can't tell what you are looking at.

This is her profile with her little hand up by her chin.

The Ultrasound tech was trying to get a full body profile shot but she wasn't cooperating well so this is the shot we got. You can see her little spine and the upper portion of one of her legs. She is still in the breech postion which we are hoping she stays in for awhile, that way she can stay in for a bit longer than her siblings.

And of course I thought a little belly progression would be nice.. she has really popped out if you ask me :)

Trunk or Treat

Yeah for Halloween Goodies!!! We had a great time this year trying to be creative with costumes and got a great deal on the kids costumes. Dave and I dressed up as Zombie Parents, which we thought was a pretty clever idea as that is pretty much how we felt yesterday. The kids had a blast dressed as Belle and Mater, not to mention all the candy they consumed all day. Hope you all had a very HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

The Verdict is in.......

We had our ultrasound and Dr. appt today, the baby is doing wonderfully with a strong heartbeat and is developing right on target. Here are a few pics we thought you'd enjoy....
my 16week belly pic (I look a bit hammered, but that nothing new)

Baby's Profile:

Baby's Face:

Baby's Hand:

and of course the money shot :)

The blob looking thing to the left hand side is her umbilical cord.. she wasn't she in the least bit to give us this picture along with several others so we are pretty confident that she in fact is a "SHE" . Dave and I couldn't be more relieved to see how much she has grown and how active she was. We have another Dr. appt and ultrasound on the 20th of November so we are excited to see her again :)

FHE: Pumpkin Painting

Okay so I know not my most creative effort, but hey it beats scraping out all the pumpkin slime and trying to get two little ones to not cut themselves making jack-o-laterns. I think they did a pretty good job and believe it or not they actually were pretty clean after it all.

And the final product: Jocelyn's Blue and Pink Pumpkin, Ethan's impressionist pumpkin and Daddy & Mommy's polka dot pumpkin ..... We are such a "talented" family :)

Jocelyn Got a Haircut!!!!!!

So when we woke up this morning we had absolutely no plans for the day....BUT when we got out of the shower Jocelyn said "Mommy, I want to cut my hair like you and mimi" I was so excited as I have been trying to convince her for the past several months that we needed to cut her hair. So I decided to jump on the chance and we all jumped into the car and headed to the "Cookie Cutter... kids cuts" in American Fork. Jocelyn did such a great job sitting there for her haircut... she is such a big girl now, it is hard to believe.

We cut off 11inches and are donating it all to Locks of Love since her hair was very healthy and met all the requirements.

What a beautiful little princess :)

Letting the Cat out of the Bag

We've been waiting and waiting until I was out of the first trimester to really even talk much about it with my past history; But we are now almost 14 weeks and have decided it is time..plus I have a bump starting to appear and would rather you know than think I am eating all the time with Dave gone so much:) We are due April 14th..really shooting for even the end of March. Our next ultrasound in on the 29th and we are hoping to find out if it is a boy or girl. So far all appointments have been great and baby's heartbeat is strong so we are ready to be excited about our new little adventure :)

First day at Ballet Class

Okay so since Jo is having such a great time at preschool I thought giving her one more activty a week would be a good way for her to get some of that energy out. So we signed her up for Ballet/Jazz classes through a local dance studio in Saratoga Springs. I have to figure out some way to get the videos I took off my phone because it was just way to cute for words. Jocelyn was completely in her element, she had this huge smile on her face and loved watching herself dance in the big mirrors. She did a great job listening to the teachers and copying the movements. Her favorite part was when they were given pieces of shiney fabric to use as they twirled on the floor. I will try to take more video of her next week and post it as it is just too cute for words.

Silly Kids

I have been blessed with some real characters for kids. Meme and Popop came over and brought with them some fun little dress up items for the kids and naturally they went straight for it. I love my kids they are so funny, best of all they know they are so funny.

Jocelyn's First Day of Preschool

Okay so Jocelyn is now a big girl and goes to Preschool every Tuesday and Thursday morning. Her first official day was last Thursday and boy was she excited. She goes to the Learning Dynamics Academic Preschool in Saratoga Springs. On her first day she ran in and gave her teacher a huge hug and didn't even look back to say good bye to mommy. When it was time for Ethan and I to pick her up we got a quick update on how she did that day and her teacher said she was a big helper and did great. On the car ride home Jocelyn filled me in on some parts of her day. She colored a picture all purple, played with friends and had a Raccoon puppet read a story to her. She also said she did marching on a Yellow line and sat down on the red line. She loves it, and it is nice to have just mommy and Ethan time.
